It was a thrilling ride for the Mulvane Patriots in their inaugural season with league championship, NBC Tournament bid, and winning the play-in week of the NBC Tournament to advance to the championship week. The Patriots were 2-2 in the championship week with two very exciting wins against the USA National Team (12 innings) and the Wellington Heat (scored 3 in 9th to win).
The Patriots had some players selected to the NBC All-Star team:
The first congratulations goes to Dalton Dinkel for earning a spot on the National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series All-Tournament Team. Dinkel received the Just Block It award after throwing out all four attempted base stealers against him. Dinkel had a NBCWS high 56 putouts as well. Dinkel has been a great addition to our Patriots squad and will be a sophomore at Cowley College this upcoming school year.
Our next congratulations goes to Ryan Erickson for being selected for the National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series All-Tournament Team as well. Ryan had an amazing tournament on the mound for the Patriots. Erickson will be a Junior at Lamar University this upcoming school year.
Next we would like to congratulate Caleb Cox, for also being selected as an All-Star Catcher! The Patriots claimed both catcher spots on this year's team. Cox also had the highest batting average of all the catchers in the tournament with a .533 percentage. Cox will be a Junior at UALR this next school year.
Finally, we would like to congratulate Adam Brown on being selected to the NBC All-Tournament Team for 3rd base. Brown drove in 10 RBIs with 11 hits, 3 doubles, and only had 1 strike out in 33 at bats. Pretty amazing stats A. Brown. We are proud of your amazing season with the Patriots this summer!
Patriots move to championship week after going 4-0 during play-in week.
