Panola College's Michael Lawson was selected as the Region 14 Eastern Conference Player of the Year. For the Ponies, Lawson batted .451 in the regular season with an on-base percentage of .555 and a slugging percentage of .660. The sophomore infielder has a team-high 62 RBIs and six home runs. Lawson also leads the team in doubles with 21 and walks with 39.
Ryan Erickson – Jr. – Beaumont, Texas – Honorable Mention All-Southland Conference Pitcher
Erickson had the 15th-best ERA in the SLC this season in conference play and led Southland pitchers in ERA of pitchers that appeared in at least 13 games. He had a 1.66 ERA through 48.2 innings in 25 regular season appearances and struck out 60 while allowing just 29 hits, nine earned runs, and 15 walks. He had four saves and a 3-1 record this season.
Javis Larson earns an honorable mention from the All-MIAA honors this season. Larson hauled in his first All-MIAA award as the junior finished the 2018 season as the Ichabod leader in stolen bases as he converted 18 of 25 attempts and was fourth in the MIAA steals. The native of Arvada, Colo., had a .298 average with .389 on-base percentage, 33 runs scored, 54 hits, 26 RBI, and 11 doubles.
Corbin Osburn earns Golden Glove award. Corbin Osburn was the Lions' Friday night starter all year long, going 4-4 with a 3.99 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 85.2 innings.
